1. Christmas cookies

Kokos Busserl from the SHF bakery

Kokos Busserl taste as delicious as they sound. With our chef’s recipe you can enjoy these sweet Schlosshotel coconut macaroon kisses in the comfort of your own home.

Ingredients:

  • 5 egg whites
  • 325 g caster sugar
  • 20 g coconut syrup
  • 20 g honey
  • 10 g white balsamic vinegar
  • 200 g shredded coconut
  • 90 g flour
  • 50 round baking wafers

Method: Beat the egg whites and sugar until stiff. Gently stir in the syrup, honey, and white balsamic vinegar. Fold in the shredded coconut and flour. Place the baking wafers on a baking tray and spoon the mixture onto the wafers. Dry rather than bake the macaroons in the oven at 80 to 120 °C.

2. Festive Christmas drink

Hot punch from the SHF bartenders

What better way to pair these delightful home-made cookies than with a cup of spicy Christmas punch. Our bartenders’ special recipe guarantees that your punch will be a hit.

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 l black tea
  • 1 l dry red wine
  • 1 fresh orange
  • 1 fresh lemon
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 splash of rum
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Method: First, prepare the black tea and let it cool. Peel the orange and lemon using a Y-shaped vegetable peeler. Then, press out the fruit juice. In a large pot, combine the red wine with the orange and lemon juice and the peels. Add the tea, cloves, sugar, and rum. Slowly heat the mixture while stirring. Don’t bring it to a boil! Once the desired temperature has been reached, strain and garnish with the toppings of your choice. We love to serve our hot punch with a stick of cinnamon and a slice of orange. Chin-chin and cheers!

For the little ones: leave out the rum and substitute the red wine for grape juice, add a bit of sugar and enjoy an alcohol-free version of our punch.

3. Home spa and #metime

Milk and honey bath à la Cleopatra from the SHF spa

They say it’s good to go for a walk or relax after indulging. Let’s just opt for the latter and treat ourselves to some pampering. Whether in the spa, or maybe just your own bathroom, you deserve it. The Schloss Spa is happy to share a very special recipe for a relaxing break at home: a nourishing milk and honey bath inspired by Cleopatra. This bath is great for stimulating skin metabolism and helps to detoxify your body. The bath also provides a good amount of vitamin E, leaving your skin smooth and perfectly quenched. Most importantly, it feels heavenly. You can find out below how to create this soothing bath with just a few simple ingredients and also how you can step the whole experience up a notch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 l whole milk, preferably goat’s milk
  • 100 ml sesame or olive oil
  • 100 g liquid honey
  • 10 drops lavender or rose essential oil

Method: Combine the ingredients using a countertop or hand blender. Run a hot bath, add the mixture, and carefully blend it with the water using your hands. Relax and unwind. Once you are finished, pat yourself dry so that your skin can absorb all the goodness.

For an enhanced experience: pamper yourself with a full-body salt scrub before the bath. This boosts the healing effects of the bath and is generally good for your skin. Enjoy!

Looking to treat someone else? This bath mixture also makes a perfect gift for your mum or best friend. Fill the princess bath mixture into a decorative bottle or jar.
