Every day, thousands of skiers head for the slopes, mountain lifts and restaurants in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis Ski Dimension. Wouldn’t it be amazing to be the first on the freshly groomed slopes as you watch the earliest rays of the rising sun? Follow this experience with a superb breakfast at a rustic wooden mountain hut, and your morning will have reached peak perfection! The SHF Backstage team decided to give the ‘First Track’ experience organised by Bergbahnen Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis a go – all in the interest of research, of course! We concluded that this is a brilliant adventure, quite extraordinary and not to be missed!
‘First Track’ is offered on most Wednesdays, and the number of participants is kept small. ‘First-trackers’ meet at 7.30am at the Schönjochbahn lower terminus where they are welcomed and divided into groups, based on skiing ability. Each group has its own guide, and the CEOs of the lift company or ski school director as well as experienced ski instructors come along too, providing participants with first-hand information and the latest news on the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis Ski Dimension.
The very first cable car of the day takes you to the north side of Fiss where you have the slopes all to yourselves – including the famous Frommes run! Every turn you make in the unmarked snow is a pure delight, and the guides make sure that all guests enjoy their morning and are safe.
At 10am, the dawn skiers meet at the Zirbenhütte restaurant for a group photograph and breakfast – and this is really something! Smoothies, beef tartare and home-made Nutella are just some of the treats that await the hungry skiers.
Breakfasted and refreshed, it’s time to go back into the ski area where you can enjoy the rest of the day’s skiing as you please.
