SHF Easter programme for children
The SHF Kids’ Club offers a creative Easter programme for our little guests, making sure that the children spend an exciting and memorable Easter holiday in Tyrol.
The kids can show their creativity by painting Easter eggs and making an Easter basket. Together with the SHF Kids’ Club supervisors, the children will go on an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday - the Easter Bunny might have hidden a few eggs? If the weather allows, the Easter egg hunt will take place outdoors in the hotel garden. The children can store the collected eggs in their self-made Easter basket.
We will also take the kids on a culinary trip to “Easter-Bunny-Land”: We will bake tiny Easter braids and Easter biscuits. As a souvenir of the exciting Easter holiday in Fiss, we will paint Easter cress pots and plant them. The children can then take their cress pots home.
For those who are curious about where the Easter Bunny gets his Easter eggs from, they can join our Kids’ Club supervisors on a visit to the chicken farm “Fisser Goggala”. 800 happy chickens live there, enjoying the fresh mountain air, the Alpine panorama, and the lush meadows. Not only does the Easter Bunny get his eggs from "Fisser Goggala", also Schlosshotel Fiss gets its eggs from this regional and sustainable chicken farm.
Winter sports and wellness – Your Easter holiday at Schlosshotel Fiss
While the youngest guests are well looked after in our Kids' Club, the parents can glide down the glistening slopes one more time this season. Due to the high altitude of the region Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis you can still go skiing on your Easter holiday in Tyrol. Schlosshotel Fiss is located directly on the ski slope and offers you a unique ski-in & ski-out experience: Step out of the elevator and find yourself right on the slope. After the final descent you can elegantly leave the slope and step right into the hotel elevator again. Be ready to indulge yourself in the included afternoon buffet where the finest culinary delights await you. A stay at Schlosshotel Fiss makes skiing even more fun.
If you prefer wellness over winter sports, Schlosshotel Fiss is also the perfect choice for your Easter holiday in Austria. The 5,000 m² SHF Spa is ideal for those who prefer to look at the ski slopes from a more relaxed position. Our Aqua Monte water world and the Finnish panoramic sauna invite you to admire the fantastic mountain views whilst relaxing in the soothing warmth of the spa. Step into the outdoor saltwater jacuzzi and watch the skiers and snowboarders swing down the slopes. As the days are getting longer and warmer, you might want to relax on the sun terrace and enjoy the view of the snow-capped mountain peaks. Wellness and winter sports can certainly be combined, too. Who wouldn't want to relax in the spa after a beautiful day on the slopes?
Our SHF Easter Special is the ideal package for a wonderful Easter holiday with the whole family.
Easter in Austria – Traditions and customs
Celebrating the Easter festivities in Austria means experiencing numerous traditions and customs. Here are a few explanations to help you prepare for your Easter holiday in Tyrol.
Easter eggs and Easter nests
Easter without Easter eggs would be impossible in Austria. Easter eggs are hard-boiled eggs with brightly coloured shells. The main highlight for children on Easter are usually the hidden Easter nests. It is said that the Easter Bunny hides a small gift for the children in an Easter nest, and the children must look for it. Easter nests traditionally contain coloured eggs, chocolate Easter bunnies, small toys and other sweets. The children have great fun looking for their Easter nest and when they find it, their eyes shine like the sun.
Why do we hide the Easter nests? The most famous theory says that in the 16th century, people used to gift each other eggs in honour of the goddess of fertility and life, Ostara. Later, the church prohibited this tradition and the people secretly continued it by hiding the eggs.
Easter Bunny
The rabbit is a symbol of spring and fertility, which is why it was chosen to be the one who brings the eggs. Also eggs represent fertility, and this is how the tradition of the Easter Bunny was born. According to other stories, the Easter Bunny was invented to explain how the eggs got into the Easter nests. Rabbits are considered to be very quick, and due to their speed, nobody could catch them hiding the eggs.
Whether you explore the extensive ski area during your Easter holiday in Tyrol, or you relax in the spa and enjoy the sun on the terrace, Schlosshotel Fiss is the ideal place for every family member. Your children are in the best of hands with our supervisors in the SHF Kids' Club, while the teenagers can be among themselves the teenagers’ room. The included SHF luxury board ensures culinary highlights during your Easter holiday at the Schlosshotel Fiss.
